About Department of Peridontology

The Department of Periodontology has a wide range of activities covering all aspects of clinical Periodontics as well as basic research including pathogenesis, diagnosis and treatment of periodontal diseases and implant dentistry. To carry out research projects, the core research technologies of the department are assembled with microbiology, immunology, cell biology, molecular biology and biomaterial science.

The patient care programs are active and varied. State-of-the-art techniques such as implants and regeneration are used daily. The research programs are numerous and diverse. These include clinical research programs in the diagnosis and treatment of periodontal disease, modelling of the progression of periodontal disease, studies of new regenerative and implant techniques, and studies of the link between periodontal disease and systemic diseases.

EXTENSIVE ACTIVITIES/WORKSHOPS/CONFERENCES

  • The Karnavati School of Dentistry celebrated National Periodontist Day on 23/02/23 with great enthusiasm and dedication. The event aimed to raise awareness about the importance of periodontal health and recognize the significant contributions of periodontists in oral care. The event also featured hands-on workshops where participants learned about periodontal assessment, scaling and root planning, and other clinical procedures. Live demonstrations and interactive sessions further enhanced the learning experience, enabling students to gain practical insights into the field.
  • Karnavati School of Dentistry successfully organised a Continuing Dental Education (CDE) Programme titled “Bone Boost: An Eye on Bone Augmentation on May 5, 2023. The CDE Programme commenced with an insightful keynote address by Dr. Meet Shah, a renowned expert in the field. The event featured interactive sessions, case presentations, and hands-on workshops, providing attendees with practical exposure and the opportunity to learn from experts.
